Accessibility

Our commitment
Tovyalla is used in offices and on job sites, by people on desktops and on phones, and we want it to be usable by everyone who works at a company that subscribes. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We do not claim full conformance: the product changes every week, and the limitations below are real.
What we have done
- Every screen can be operated from the keyboard alone: forms, dialogs, menus, tables and the navigation. Dialogs trap focus while open and hand it back when they close.
- Focus is always visible — a consistent ring on every control, on every background.
- Form controls carry labels that assistive technology reads, and errors are announced next to the field they are about as well as at the top of the form.
- Text and controls meet the AA contrast ratio on the colours the product is built from, in light and dark mode.
- Animation is reduced to near nothing when your system asks for reduced motion.
- The application works at 400 pixels wide and at 200% browser zoom without horizontal scrolling of the page itself; wide tables scroll within their own frame.
- The sign-in, sign-up and record-entry screens are checked against WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules on every build, so a regression fails the build rather than reaching you.
Known limitations
- Generated PDFs — proposals, contracts, change orders and exports — are not tagged PDFs (PDF/UA). A screen reader can read the text, but headings and tables are not marked up as such.
- Charts on the dashboard are drawn as graphics. Each has a table alternative in the print view, and the figures they plot appear as numbers on the same page.
- Maps are provided by a third-party mapping library. The map can be panned and zoomed from the keyboard and each marker is named for its job, but the map tiles themselves have no text alternative; the project list carries the same addresses.
- Third-party pages we send you to — Stripe Checkout and the Stripe billing portal, and BoldSign’s signing pages — are not ours, and we cannot change how they are built.
Feedback
If any part of Tovyalla is hard for you to use, tell us. Email support@tovyalla.com with the page and what happened, and we will reply within 5 business days. If you need something in a different format in the meantime — a document as plain text, for example — ask and we will provide it.
